Location & deals

Spotta can show how far each product’s nearest offer is and sort deals nearest first when you allow location. We only read a rough position in your browser — nothing is stored on our servers for that.

Battery-friendly, on-demand

Spotta does not track you while you browse or after you leave the site. GPS is used only when you open ☰ Menu and tap Use my location or Update my location. That fits occasional visits (once a week or less) without draining the battery in the background.

Chain-wide specials (e.g. all Tops at Spar)

Deals come from our database and appear when you open or refresh the app. If every branch of a chain has the same special, we usually store one offer per branch so each store can show distance when you’ve shared location. Choose that chain in Filter by store brand, then pick a branch if you want. Moving towns doesn’t change the list by itself — tap Update my location so distances and “within 5 km / 10 km” match where you are now.

iPhone / iPad (Safari or Chrome)

  1. Open Settings and search Location Services (or go to Privacy & SecurityLocation Services).
  2. Turn Location Services on.
  3. Find Safari or Chrome in the list → set to While Using the App or Ask.
  4. Open Spotta in the browser → ☰ MenuUse my location → tap Allow if asked.

Android (Chrome or other browser)

  1. Open Settings and search Location (or open Location / Security & location).
  2. Turn Use location on.
  3. Open App permissions (or per-app location) → choose Chrome (or your browser) → Allow only while using the app or Allow.
  4. In the browser, open Spotta → ☰ MenuUse my location and allow when prompted.

Samsung, Pixel, and other brands use slightly different menus; the Settings search bar and the word Location usually lead you to the right screen.
